The clinical projects regarding the NewSound hearing aids have been published

Recently, the Journal of Audiology and Speech Disorders published a research paper titled "A Comparative Study on the Short-term Effects of Self-fitting and Conventional-fitting Hearing Aids" in Volume 31, Issue 3 of 2023. The study aimed to evaluate the short-term effectiveness of wearing different hearing aids in 20 middle-aged to elderly individuals with moderate to moderately severe sensorineural hearing loss. The two hearing aids used in the study, Primo U600 and Primo MA801, were developed by Xiamen NewSound Technology Co., Ltd. The Primo U600 model was fitted with professional assistance, while the Primo MA801 model required patients to adjust the settings themselves using an app under the guidance of a dispenser. The study concluded that both types of hearing aids were equally effective in providing hearing compensation and improving speech recognition for middle-aged and elderly individuals. However, the study suggests the need for further research with a larger sample size and wider geographic representation to validate this conclusion. According to Professor Xi Xin, hearing impairment is a widespread sensory functional impairment worldwide. The most common rehabilitation devices for people with moderate to severe hearing loss are hearing aids, which provide auditory compensation. However, the wearing rate of hearing aids is only around 6.5%, primarily influenced by the patient's education level, family income, and understanding of hearing loss and hearing aids. In August 2022, the United States introduced the OTC Hearing Aid Act to enhance the accessibility and affordability of hearing aids. Conversely, China has yet to adopt this category of OTC hearing aids. Consequently, this study aims to compare the short-term experience differences between middle-aged and elderly patients with hearing impairment using domestically self-fitted hearing aids and conventionally professionally fitted hearing aids. This research aims to predict the potential benefits of self-fitted hearing aids for the elderly hearing-impaired population in China.

NewSound, a leading hearing aid manufacturer in China, is committed to its corporate vision of "Help People Hear Better" by focusing on the research and development of affordable, effective, and user-friendly hearing devices.
Founder Yu Shihu, one of the earliest experts in the Chinese hearing aid industry, has always aimed to lower the cost of hearing aids. Foreign brands' hearing aids are often priced in the tens of thousands of RMB, making them inaccessible to many potential users. In addition to technical factors, the high cost of hearing aids is also influenced by their fitting forms.
In 2018, NewSound introduced its innovative "Ready-To-Wear" hearing aids to the US market, garnering considerable attention upon their release. This groundbreaking technology has revolutionized the hearing aid industry. Users have the flexibility to adjust various parameters such as volume, scenes, frequency bands, and noise reduction levels through a mobile app, allowing them to personalize their experience. Additionally, qualified experts are available remotely to provide professional guidance and assistance when needed. By simplifying the fitting process and reducing related costs, NewSound aims to make hearing aids more affordable and accessible to a broader audience.
